How I Prepare Myself for Being Supervisor
Each fall I go down to the cemetery, in the center of the city. There, I pick up horse chestnuts, which have come down from the trees. It is a peaceful and meditative exercise, done in the golden sunshine, so typical for this season.
Later on, I put these chestnuts in the pocket of my coat. Every time I am on my way to a supervision assignment, I will place my hand in the pocket and touch the chestnuts. It is an enjoyable feeling to stir the whole lot. Moreover, the activity brings back pleasant memories of that day in the fall when I assembled them.
